As many of you know, I am a lockmith on the Oregon Coast. I have been
one for nearly 30 years. I took the business over from my father. Well,
tonight I got a knock on my door, just as I was typing the KRRZ tip a
bit ago. I answered it and it was my neighbor's son. He could not get an
answer from knocking on his mothers front door. So, I called Lucile and
no answer either. I grabbed my tools and headed over. I knocked, rang
the doorbell, still nothing except I could hear her little dog barking.
The screen door was locked from the inside. I got that open and picked
her lock. Her son walked in and as I expected, he found his mother and
she had passed. Lucille was a nice lady and she was nearly 92, but had
been in good shape and was still diving her car. I knew her since we
moved in 1981. So I am a bit upset tonight. Fortunately, I did not view
the body as she had made it to her bedroom, but ended up on the floor
out of sight. I don't handle things like this very well after losing
both of my parents and partner. However, I guess it is a locksmith's
job, the good and the bad. Maybe I should not have posted it here, but I
had to tell someone.
