I like RecAll from Sagebrush ..   http://www.sagebrush.com/     latest
version can do great compression and still get good sound quality... the
continous loop record feature is most handy and hard to find in most other
programs.  Has all the other needed features as well.

Of course, the vogue now is to get a SDR and record the entire
spectrum.......
