Re: [IRCA] Sony SRF-85 Walkman.. an Ergonomic Nightmare

Hello Kevin,

The SRF-85 is an analog AM-FM stereo predecessor to the current SRF-59,
in a "Spots" package. It has been out of production for many years.

     Your SRF-M85(V) is a digital armband-shaped AM-FM Stereo Walkman,
including TV and Weather coverage in the "V" model. This model has a wide v
ariation in quality control, with mu own unit gaining a significant sensitivity
boost by alignment-- but still not enough to raise it up to an aligned
SRF-59/39FP level.
Having pretty decent FM stereo performance and audio, it seems that Sony's
target audience was primarily on the FM side.

                                                  73, Gary
