It turns out that my attempt to load 9-kHz spacing stations into memory
somehow erased the stations I'd previously entered on 10 kHz spacing.
When I went back to 10 kHz, it would let me add stations, but on 9, it
wouldn't, so I guess that answers that question. I had hoped to
pre-program a dozen or so selected TA frequencies for quick scanning,
but apparently that's not going to happen, unless there's another
method not included in the so-called manual, as was the case with
switching from 10 to 9 kHz.
