Re: [IRCA] Sony SRF-M85

Kevin,

Thanks very much for your information on the SRF-M85, it is much
appreciated.

If I can somehow find a new SRF-M85 to purchase (not an SRF-M85V), and
a supplier to recommend to other IRCA members, I would be very happy to
include it in the 2008 "Shootout.' But it seems to me that Sony has discontinued
it, and that the replacement SRF-M85V just can't compete on sensitivity with
the SRF-59, SRF-M37V, and DT-200VX (all reviewed in the current shootout on
dxer.ca). The next "shootout," with the top-of-the-line Made in Japan
SRF-T615 and the C.Crane SWP, will be even rougher yet.

                            73, Gary
