2370 elicits glowing memories. Until Mr. Rockefeller's tennant
lawyer/president closed it in '74, NAVCOMMSTA Newport, RI, listened for ship teletypes via
Sachuest Point receiver site & replied via Beavetail Point's TMC 10 Kw mitter.
Patient listening produced regular hits from ships running low power far
offshore. Initial comms generally in clear, revealing ship name, qth, & heading.
Fortunately for national security, family Zenith T/O 500 did not have teletype
demodulator, nor did Nova-Tech include teleprinter with my mighty Pilot II
receiver.
