Man, if that isn't an arrogant attitude on the part of the IBOC boys,
then I don't know what is.  The Industry could get into a huge, drawn
out discussion about who "deserves" to be on the air and who doesn't
and who really is "serving" their community and who isn't.  To me, the
small 1kw graveyarder with local programming (say, WSNJ-1240 in nearby
Bridgeton NJ, which is a treat to listen to) provides a greater public
service by actually providing local programming to its community than
does 50kw WWWT-1500 in Washington, which has nary a locally-produced
program anymore (they gone the syndicated talk route).  But that
shouldn't really be the issue in the IBOC debate.  The issue should
rightly be and only be"Does WBZ have the right to interfere with a
another licensed station in New York State?"  By sidetracking the
debate to "who deserves to be on the air or not" is nothing more than
a lot of smoke and mirrors, IMO!!!
