Re: [IRCA] First impressions of 24h IBOC

Good Morning:

It's 5:38 A.M. P.D.T. and just finished a check on KEX 1190 - KFBK 1530 & KDZR 1640. The Ewe NW, Loop SW and the H-800 active whip are the antennas in use. KIWA loop was used to see if the stations hiss can be knock down or out.

KEX's hiss takes out 1180 & 1200. Using the Kiwa loop I was able to hear KOFI 1180 with a slight hiss audio with their signal. Have a station weakly on 1200 fighting it out with the hiss.

KFBK 1530 has no effect on KGGD 1520, the Spanish is coming through well, but their only 20 miles away. Nothing on 1540 but KFBK hiss.

KDZR 1640 is fighting it out with a religious program. Stations can be heard on 1630 & 1650, but so can the hiss.
