It can work, but you need the heavier flux used in plumbing.  Ordinary
rosin-core electronic solder doesn't seem to do well exposed directly to
flame.  At least that's what I've found over the years.  YMMV..

Some of the newer silver bearing non-lead plumbing solders might work very
well for antennas, and work well when heated by a propane torch.  Oatey is
one brand sold at Home Depot, and probably Lowe's.  I'll have to try it.  I
think I have some left from a plumbing project.
