     1550 is not a good frequency here in the daytime,  with slop from local 
KZIZ-1560.  But KVRI-1600 has a great signal both day  and night, beating out 
KRPI-1550.
 
     Bill's comments are quite accurate-- the salt  water path from KVRI to 
the south sound makes it extremely strong on  1600, so that in summer KOHI and 
KOPT are pretty much hopeless before  sunset enhancement.  At night, however, 
KOPT and KVRI are roughly  equal in strength here, and KOHI has never been 
heard on its 12-watt night  pattern at my location.
