Re: [IRCA] KOHI-1600's Underwhelming Signal

In cases like this, I've found it helps to sort e-mails by subject, highlight all the ones on a particular subject, and delete them in one fell swoop. It's less time consuming than deleting them one at a time, and much less time consuming than actually reading them before I delete them.

As a general rule, I've found that usefulness varies inversely with the number of posts on a topic. In other words, if there are 20-30 responses to a particular post, I can safely delete them all without reading them and not miss anything. If there are 3-4 posts, then it's probably worthwhile to read them. This is pretty much the case for every e-group I've ever belonged to. The practice comes in handy if I fall behind and need to clean up a few hundred e-mails in a hurry.
