Re: [IRCA] AM station causes fire on Catalina Island

PLEASE read the [IRCA] mailing list guidelines at http://www.ircaonline.org/guidelines.htm

I just checked out the Crawford Broadcasting Company web site. They have
a section called The Local Oscillator which is a monthly newsletter for
their engineering department. How ironic that this month's blog from
KBRT CE Bill Agresta (written before the recent fire) begins "Greetings
from very dry Santa Catalina Island!" In it he details how extremely dry
(and bug infested) it has become there.

He also mentions the tower crew that has been replacing the guy wires.
It appears that he had been having a number of problems with them prior
to the fire.

He also mentioned the fact that the extreme conditions have caused him
to consider joining the local volunteer fire department. What a
prophetic blog given the events of the past few days!
