Bill Ammons of Phoenix used to make and sell what he called an "IF Adder 
PCB." Dead simple to install , just unsolder an existing filter, solder in a 
socket and press home the small PCB. Plus connect the pigtail wire to a 
source of 11 - 14vdc. The small PCB gave an extra 2 - 8db of gain and added 
one extra filter stage. I added one to my KT-7500 without any problems. When 
I bought mine several years ago his email address at that time was 
ammonsphx@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Dunno if it still works.
