Re: [IRCA] High Power electrical towers (OT)

In '99 or so, when I was still at Wireless Review, I wrote about a ham --
K9VDD, I think -- who leased space to a wireless carrier. They replaced his
backyard tower with a commercial unit capable of accommodating three
carriers, plus his antennas. He also got a monthly lease payment from each
carrier, although I can't remember the amount.

Back in the mid 90's, I visited a home was at the top of a ridge in El
Sobrante, CA. A cell phone company connected their cell antennas to his
wooden deck and they did a good job hiding the equipment. He was paid
$200.00 a month and received 2 cell phones with unlimited usage. This was
back when the cell phones were analog.
