It was me who wanted to know the tuning speed of the R-390 A.  Thanks for the information.  Like the way Charles powers his R-390 A with the variac.
Nice the way it extends of life of the tubes.  There's a listing on E bay for 10 R-390 A receivers.  Most are missing a part or two.  Last time I checked the bid it was around $2,200.00.
