Re: [IRCA] KIRO 710/SS stations

Doug,

Bob was a real fan of the old KMPC. Even to interview Gary Owens. We
used to listen to KMPC everytime we were in So Cal. With their pattern
so tight, they have been rare up here in recent years though. The only
time I ever hear 710 today (KSPN) is during strong AU cx that knock KIRO
out, which does happen on occasion. The last time I caught KSPN was a
year or so ago with KIRO on.
KSPN's pattern is really tight at night, sening it all South. I remember
back in the 80s when Bob & I were leaving LA one morning, we listened to
KMPC on the car radio good all the way to about Fresno, when to got to
LSS and one second KMPC was a good signal, the next totally gone off the
dial. I mean totally gone too. Not a peep.
I have received a lot of DX on 710 through the years from both OR and
AK, but there are still many stations I haven't heard. But cx the other
night were not that great unfortunately.

Patrick
