[IRCA] NE Oregon TPs, January 1 2007

I'm not getting any TA stuff here, but don't have a decent north-facing
antenna presently. But the Far East Russian LWBCs have been doing well in
the evening on 153, 180, 189.
I went to bed before midnight, and woke up earlier than usual. Checking the
radio the LWBC were decent on 153, 180, 189, 234 around 1300 utc. On MW,
lots of hets up and down the dial, but nothing approaching audio. An hour
later, LWBC 279 was picking up, 234 had gone. But 1548 was playing
heavy-metal type R&R just before 1400, then a female came on with news, poor
to weak. Several decent fadeups over the next 5 minutes--seemed to be
colloquial EE talk but not positive. Over the next hour several brief
fadeups but the domestic splatter kept getting stronger and stronger. One
station in particular on 1550 was playing jazz--boy, that really makes for
some heavy splatter on 1538! Beacon KUT from PNG was briefly heard at 1434 
utc, in USB mode.
