Bill,
IBOC stands for "In Band On Channel". It is a digital mode of
transmitting the AM signal. Yes, it causes all sorts of "hash" on each
side of the station. KEX 1190 Portland OR has IBOC and 1180 & 1200 are
basically unlistenable if the signal is weak. Not good for DXing. So far
IBOC is only used daytime. I hope it stays that way too!
