We use an inverter in the car -- Radio Shack sells them -- and it works
great for the laptop. Just get a good one -- the cheap ones won't be able
to handle it.

I just found a DC-AC power adapter for my computer. I will order one and
test it out.
I am still interested in the experiences others have had with 12 volt DXing.
