Re: [IRCA] Last Twins game on WCCO

Paul,

With all (or almost all) games during the season televised I guess the only radio listeners are people in their cars rushing home to watch the rest of the game on TV. KNBR-680 still is the
Giants Flagship but the A's have gone through a bunch in the past few years. Think they have two non-descripts this year, KYCY-1550 & KNTS-1220. Neither has much coverage. Especially in the
East Bay. KNBR has a lock on sports in this area since they also own KTCT-1050, or as they like to call it "KNBR-1050". They have even captured the Niners from KGO after all these years. So
KNBR has Giants, Warriors & Forty-Niners. Raiders are on KSFO-560. Sharks Hockey....I dunno whats up with that. Last nights game was carried on radio on FM only.
Almost all games are televised nowdays. How different from 40 years ago.

Anyway, back to WCCO. Indeed sad. I remember dxing from Iowa in the 80s (while on vacation) and hearing many many different teams games carried on radio in the evening. That's getting rarer
and rarer now.
