Re: [IRCA] [NRC-AM] BOG made to a BUG

I have not done this, but some length of my permanent west BOGs are often
under leaves, bark, mulch and other residue from trees and with no apparent
ill effects. I suggest that you try to go down 1" if you want to make
certain that it stays out of site since if only barely underground, animals
and people stepping in the area could bring it to the surface. If possible
compare signal levels and directivity with the wire on the ground vs buried.
I suggest doing all tests in the daytime so signals are steady and
directivity can be tested.

I appologize that I won't be making these tests myself, since most of my
BOG's are on low cut grass and it would be lots of work to mess up my fields
with even a shallow trench.
