I have one of the later tube-type Zenith Transoceanics I bought at a yard
sale in maybe 1973 or so.  It uses the very hard to find tubes like a 1L5.
I haven't fired it up in years.  When I did use it, it was a decent enough
rig on MW.  Roughly on a par with other quality tube radios of the era.  The
last good consumer-grade tube radio I used was a Pilot AM/FM.  I think that
may have been slightly better.  To be honest, I think the standard old Radio
Shack TRF 12-655 was better out of the box.
