Here is what I did for a ground. Works better than any I have ever tried,
And as good as the ground I used when I lived on Sullivan's Island, SC. The
island is off the coast of SC, and surrounded by salt water.

If you can, get a copy of an old ARRL antenna book, 1970 or older. The new
books, since 1990 don't show this. In the 1970 issue, on page 199, it shows
you how to make a ground system that works. I have used the same system in
Garland, TX where the soil conductive is the pits, just as it is here.

In case you can't find a copy, I could make a copy of the page and snail
mail it to you.
