Re: [IRCA] Dial up

Patrick,

I have DSL here, with a router/4-port switch that serves up wired and wireless signals, another 8-port switch, 3 computers running wired and 2 running wireless, a wireless bridge, a 900 MHz phone and 2 2.4 GHz phones. None of them are creating any noise, and I am not particularly careful about what wires go where. If you were to get any noise (I'm NOT saying you would), usually you can turn something 90 degrees to null out the noise. The worst noise I run into here (outside of arcing at the power box and antique house wiring) is the flat-panel monitor. Forty-five degrees one way or the other and its fine.

I was planning to go to the convention. I was also planning to have a job so that I could use real honest-to-God vacation. On the day I was to go permanent, I got the dreaded HR meeting instead. Financial priorities being what they are, I'm staying close to home unless something changes dramatically soon.

  Doug,

Cable TV is so leaky here. I can point my TV antenna to the house next
door and get snowy pictures on several channels.
I am so picky about QRN that if there is any that I have control of, I
don't want to deal with it period! Now, turning off the computer or Web
TV, the noise goes. That is fine, but I don't want to bring some noisy
thing into the house. hi.

The convention is coming along fine. It looks like we will have a
record turnout too. I keep hearing every few days from someone else who
is coming. It is amazing how many want to come to the Oregon Coast. This
is great!
