I am afraid you are correct on KFIR. There is no reason why they will
not get the grant. There is no new transmitter site to build,
directional system. All they have to do is to buy the 10 KW transmitter
and hook it up. 710 KIRO so far away and Medford on 730 at still a good
distance, KXL Portland is 30 Khz away, there is no QRM for them to worry
about. Now getting a boost at night would be another issue, but they are
not asking for that. The same was true for KDUN 1030 Reedsport. They
easily got their 50 KW ND days. The problem the past few years has not
been IBOC as much as it is all the power boosts everywhere. 1030
Reedsport, KJR-Seattle, KKOL-Seattle, on aand on. I guess everyone is
headed for 50 KW. We wont have any low power stations left.
