Hank and I corresponded for a number of years comparing DX notes from
when I moved back to Seaside in 1979. He did very well in Santa Rosa
just using a loop and the SP-600. He told me stories about coming from
the East. I think it was from  Philly or Pittsburgh and setting up a
beverage antenna on an empty lot aimed at Australia and hearing 10 watt
DUs in the 20s from the East!!! Amazing stuff. His QSL collection was
fantastic.
