Jim Critchett was a fine gentleman ... one of the first to welcome me into
the MWDX hobby after being one of a number of DX'ers, from Oklahoma City to the
east to Invercargill in the west who sent verifiable reports to the first DX
test I ever ran ... from KCOV-1240, Corvallis, Oregon, in 1956. I visited Jim in
San Diego in 1958, and he was at the Eugene convention in '67 as well. I am
also, methinks, one of the few people who met Jackson Moran, a fine, furry
fellow who lived with Jim and Polly Critchett.
Jim's letters while I was in Aschaffenburg, Germany, with the U.S. Army
were greatly appreciated.
Speaking of Oklahoma City, does anyone remember Buddy Giles?
