Re: [IRCA] Synchros, anyone?

Cholly

There are a number of them outside the US

The NHK in Japan several channels with low powered transmitters
operating in parallel. 1584 kHz for example has 2 dozen transmitters at
100 watts each. These low powered relays are fed from different
regional stations, so there are a couple hours(+/-) each day when
they're not all parallel. Most of the Japanese commercial stations have
low powered relays in smaller towns, and in a few cases they have low
powered relays on the same channel as the main station.

The BBC has a few AM channels with synchronized outlets (693 and 909
have about a dozen transmitters)

Australia has or had a pair of such stations on 855, though one of them
may now be on FM.

China National Radio has a few channels with transmitters all over the
country. They aren't all that well synchronized and not all that low
powered, since we can hear echos from two or more stations on 981 and a
couple other channels during our DXpeditions at Grayland.

There are probably a few other cases.
