I have one of these and it does not have a tuned RF stage. The RS
models with a TRF stage were, among others, the 12-655 and 12-656.
The 12-625 is not a bad radio, considering that it has no RF stage,
but the 12-655 and 12-656, as well as the GE Superradios, will run
rings around it DX wise.
