Good point, John... let's see if we can winnow down the choices by other
means. It seems that the station is in the east... it was being heard
well by Bill in MD and Dave in NJ, and moderately well by me in ON, but
not by Jerry in WI, who logged KBUF-KS at the time we were all comparing
notes. So, I think it's unlikely that WCTS-MN was the mystery station.
KCWJ-MO is relatively low power (1 kW day / 0.5 kW night), and both
patterns are directional to the SW, so I don't think it could be them.
That leaves WDRU, which is 50 kW and has a daytime pattern with a minor
lobe to the north, where everyone hearing the unid was. So, WDRU seems to
be the prime suspect, as Bill indicated in his initial posting. And they
do carry SRN news, according to their website. The other possibility
might be a station with a recent format change.
