After reading Dave Williams' tip about CBA I
decided to park my radio and timer on 1070 for the night. Unfortunately I did
not hear CBA, but I did get one new one out of it. KATQ-Plentywood, MT with full
sign on announcement at 06:00MST. With the slop I
was getting from CKMX on 1060 it was difficult to hear exactly
what was being said, other than KATQ and the mention of a FM station.
Fortunately 2 hours later I heard a complete ID at 08:00 TOH.
It's not very often I hear a daytimer sign on these
days, in fact its been many years. At my last location, which is only 120
miles south of here, I heard and QSL'd many daytime only stations. Up
here conditions are very different with few daytimers heard and even fewer FM
openings, but that's a different story. Of course the one big bonus, many more
TA's are heard. I guess we can't have it all, though it would be
nice.

vertical.
