[IRCA] TA last night

J.D. Stephens reported on the IRCA list getting "decent strength and
reasonably steady signal" from Virgin-1215 at his QTH in Alabama last
night around 0530 UTC (11:30pm Central). For the first time last night
about an hour before that, starting around 0410 UTC, I got my first-ever
audio on this frequency (1215). Pop music, and heard some talk too, but
it was a bit too weak & hemmed-in by splatter to discern language,
accent etc. This has been one of my most-wanted TAs, since it's one of
the few I have any chance of hearing in English! Still need to clearly
hear British-accented English talk to count it... firing up the computer
to check their webcast wasn't convenient at the time. But at least I
know readable audio on 1215 is a definite possibility here. I too found
9-kHz-channel carriers up and down the dial last night, but they were
mostly very weak. I did have a LOUD 1000Hz het on 530, but couldn't pull
up any audio.
