<< Fellow DXers,
I have a chance to buy a used Icom IC-R71A for $350. I'd appreciate any
advice you can offer on the following questions:
1. How good is this receiver as a BCB DX tool?
++ AWESOME++ Does not overload with big antennas, has good sensitivity but
there is a mod that will enable the pre-amp for MW . A very good MW radio.
2. How does it compare to a basic, no-frills NRD-535 in performance?
++ No experience++
3. Is $350 a fair price?
++ Sounds fair to me. Some models did not have the passband tuning, that is
a plus.
Hard to beat an Icom R71a, plenty of mods available to soup it up as well.
