What you described is exactly the Wobbler!  I sent links for comparison, 
but at your distance the similarity may be difficult to hear.  There are 
other sound clips on the web site which might match your reception better.

You might want to post your success on the IRCA list to encourage 
others.  With my close proximity I can't know if the signal is getting out 
or just making a ruckus down here.
