Hello Patrick,
Thanks for the information about your expierence with the EWE antenna. You also wrote about the importance of a good ground. My back yard is like a swamp. Standing water, you walk on the grass and you can look back and see brown water. I have 4 grounding rods in each corner of my back yard. Could I attach wires to the four ground rods and run them in a pattern on the lawn? One big square and then criss crossing in a grid pattern. If this would help the EWE antenna it would be an ideal time to install the ground wiring because the ground is so wet and by the spring the grass would cover the wiring. I have been using the solid grounding rods, the 8' rods. I have heard some DXers use the copper pipe. The rods that I have been using cost around $14.95. I would imagine the thicker wire would work better for the grid pattern. Maybe 12-10 guage?
Thanks again for you help.
