Re: [IRCA] article

This situation exists everywhere within terrestrial broadcast radio, hobby and commercial alike. Radio is old technology and the younger generation has largely passed it by in favor of more modern and I daresay efficient technologies. Radio will continue to exist for a time but some of the younger folks among us may see a day when radio is history.

A while ago, a group of us made the same observation about 2 meter
repeaters. The gee whiz technology of the 1960's and those who know how to
service these machines are now in their 80's and unable to climb towers any
more. Shortwave radio is practically dead, NDBs are dying.

I hope I am wrong but I don't like what I am seeing either. Thanks for
sharing.
