[IRCA] TP 23 Oct Victoria version.

It was a bit of a sleeper this morning, nothing new, but just lots of things popping up.
(for some reason, this didn't go out last night...)

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

594 JOAK man in Japanese 1423UT

747 JOIB man in Japanese 1431UT

774 JOUB English lessons 1408UT; this didn't have much of a signal this morning mostly, just a few peaks

828 JOBB English lessons 1445UT

972 HLCA woman in Korean, 3&1 pips, man in Korean 1400UT

1287 JOHR two men in Japanese, North Flag better, 1410UT

1566 HLAZ woman in Chinese 1414UT; north Flag

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

567 JOIK woman talking //594

639 CNR1 2 pips on half hour, Biejing time check, man with news //1098 1430UT

675 Vietnam? man talking in unfamiliar language 1424-5UT. Wasn't //5975 noted in PAL (WRTH says it is inactive, but seemed to track VoV website stream as it faded. Language ID anyone? http://www3.telus.net/public/shallpat/4all/675_20181024_1424.wav

693 JOAB English lessons 1436UT, nulled CBU-690 splash

873 JOGB end of Portuguese, pips, beginning of English lessons

945 CNR1 woman singing //1098 1409UT

1098 CNR 1 woman in Chinese //945 1423UT

1242 rock music 1443 assumed to be JOLF?

1575 VoA nice Voice of America ID and Yankee Doodle at 1430UT, peaking at this level 1434UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

603 HLSA KBS jingle and single pip 1400UT

612 4QR man and woman DU English 1411UT

666 JOBK? woman in Japanese, not //594 1414UT, part of break for local news?

738 Taiwan Fisheries woman in Chinese 1410UT; earlier was //1143 when both were weaker

891 JOHK woman talking //594 1443UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

558 HLQH woman talking //603 1429UT

585 slow folky vocal music only on the west Flag 1412UT, didn't seem parellel with traces of talk on 576

702 mix of Chinese and Japanese? 1422UT

711 man talking in 710 splatter, Korean intonation? 1423UT

756 CNR1 echoey talk by man //945 1424UT

1089 JOHB English lessons //774 1428UT

1017 CRI Chinese lessons? //5965 1445UT

1134 man talking, Korean intonation?

1422 man talking, Japanese intonation 1409UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

  648 657 792 846 855 864 909 918 936 954  1035 1044 1053 1107 1179 1215  1251 1341 1359  1458 1503 1557 seemed to be Asian;
 594 792 1017 1098 seemed to be DU

best wishes,

Nick
