[IRCA] TP 21 Oct Victoria version.
As Colin described, a definite switch from Asia to Australia this morning, starting after 1300UT. Again, sure that much was missed.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):
576 2RN interview of man by woman 1357UT; paralleled with 846 a little later
612 4QR man being interviewed by woman //702 1425UT
702 2BL man and woman talking about crusades //738 1414UT
774 3LO man and woman //612 1426UT
828 3GI woman and mantaling //738 1412UT
828 JOBB English lessons 1325UT
873 JOGB English lessons 1411UT
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
531 man in DU English talking about student uniforms 1407-8UT; no idea.
558 island music 1423UT, likely Fiji
594 3WV man talking //612 1440UT
594 JOAK Japanese partying //567 1320UT
738 2NR man talking //747 1429UT
747 4QS man talking //738 and 774 1430UT
846 2RN woman talking //576 1407UT
972 HLCA man in Korean 1359UT, one of the few Asians to appear this late
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:
567 JOIK man and woman //594 1320UT
567 4JK man and woman //594 1438UT
693 JOAB English lessons 1331UT
711 HLKA woman in Korean 1329UT
747 JOIB man in Japanese 1405UT
756 RNZ National woman talking //675 1415UT
792 4RN man talking, DU English 1407UT
891 news by woman in DU English 1432UT; at 1430UT, no sign of fanfare, or much else, but likely 5AN
1017 two women talking, one quite emotional island language? 1422UT, likely Tonga
1116 4BC two men DU English 1433UT
1323 CRI female ballad 1433-4 UT, then man in Chinese with flute music, then man in Russian? as it faded
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)
540 4QL checked Colin's supposition, and yes, man and woman //594 1424UT
567 RNZ National woman talking //675 1412UT
585 7RN fanfare at 1400UT, man saying "ABC news"
603 2RN ABC fanfare at 1400UT, nailed at 1417UT with woman talking //585
603 man talking, maybe Korean? single pip at 1400UT
603 R. Waatea man talking //765 1411UT
621 man DU English 1433UT assumed 3RN, no parallels just then
675 RNZ National piano music, then woman talking //756 1351UT
765 R. Kahungunu woman talking //603 1403UT
837 4RK man talking //828 1415UT
855 4QO/4QB man and woman //774 1425UT, piano music underneath?
909 relaxed femal pop music 1411UT Star?
936 woman talking, DU English intonation 1430UT
963 man talking DU English intonation not //909 1412UT
1008 man talking rapidly DU English intonation 1425UT, racing?
1107 man talking DU English intonation? another man on phone 1340UT
1287 woman and man in Japanese? 1334UT
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)
657 873 1242 1566 1575 seemed to be Asian;
639 1026 seemed to be DU
best wishes,
Nick
