[IRCA] TP 13 Oct Victoria version.

Yesterday was a transitional morning all right; I'd say transitioning back into the bucket, but hearing several Star outlets from New Zealand is never usual here, so, only mildly awful. Interesting that Bruce wasn't reporting any NZ from Grayland...

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

594 JOAK man in Japanese 1409UT

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

612 4QR rock music //702 1339UT

756 RNZ National woman in DIU English //675, into church sounding choral music.

774 JOUB man in Japanese 1339UT //828

828 JOBB man in Japanese 1343UT, similar strength 1401UT, English news?

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

567 RNZ National choral music //756 1342UT

747 JOIB man in Japanese //774 1343UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

567 4JK country vocal //612 1409UT

576 2RN ABC fanfare 1400UT

594 Star, laid back vocals //657 taking over briefly from JOAK 1348UT

657 Star, leapt out briefly from behind the splatter 1348UT; //594 and,, later, 963

675 RNZ National woman talking //756 1411UT

693 JOAB man talking //774 1345UT, creeping through splatter

702 2BL rock music //612 1339UT

837 JOQK NHK1 interlude music 1414UT

837 RNZ National woman talking //756 mixing with JOQK 1414UT

891 JOHK man talking //594 1411UT

909 man mumbling DU English perhaps, 1405UT; Star? no parallel at this time

963 Star laid back vocal music //657 1402UT

972 man talking, perhaps Korean 1412UT

1017 island choral music 1405UT, west Flag only, likely Tonga

1287 man talking,Japanese intonation 1405UT

1566 woman talking, Chinese intonation, 1412UT; big carrier, poor modulation. Likely HLAZ?

1593 man talking, Chinese intonation 1413UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

873 1053 1242 1323 seemed to be Asian;
603 855 882 918 936 1026 1098 1458 1503 seemed to be DU

best wishes,

Nick
