[IRCA] TP 12 Oct Victoria version.

Perhaps a transitional morning, with stronger Japanese, though still fadey, and some hints again of China. Many "carrier only" signals in fact had hints of audio, and may have faded up at some point.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

567 JOIK man in Japanese //595 1409UT

594 JOAK man and woman in Japanese 1358

747 JOIB English lessons 1408UT

774 JOUB English lessons, 1408UT

972 HLCA pop music fading up strongly, then man in Korean, as it faded back down 1402UT

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

603 HLSA soft music //558 1358UT, also various other times

828 JOBB man in Portuguese 1351UT, about the best it got today

1323 CRI man in Russian 1405UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

612 4QR man in DU English 1404UT

891 JOHK man talking //594 1413UT

954 JOKR man in Japanese 1419UT

963 CRI man in Russian 1414UT //1323

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

558 HLQH soft music //603 1357UT

585 JOPG man talking //594 1417UT

603 NHK1 woman talking //594 1359UT during HLSA fade

621 traces of laid back instrumental music 1412UT, on channel, China?

639 man mumbling, not //594 1409UT; maybe China but no parallels available (the SW parallels were missing also)

657 Star man talking //909 1404UT

657 man talking, mixing with above 1404UT, sounded Korean perhaps?

675 no pips heard but woman talking DU English intonation 1400UT

693 JOAB English lessons //774 1405UT

702 NHK2 man talking //774 1358UT

711 man talking Korean perhaps? 1409UT

846 NHK1 man and woman talking //594 1405UT

909 Star, man talking //657 1404UT

945 man and woman talking, Chinese intonation 1411UT

1242 man talking rapidly, Japanese intonation; commercial? 1420UT

1287 man talking, Japnese intonation 1357UT

1422 woman talking, Japanese intonation 1423UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

531 729 738 855 864 936 981 1008 1017 1053  1098 1134 1152  1179 1206  1566 1575  seemed to be Asian;
576 738 1017 seemed to be DU

best wishes,

Nick
