[IRCA] TP 25 Sep Victoria version.

A more relaxing morning today. Although there were plenty of strong signals, there didn't seem quite the deluge that has been the case recently, even around 1340UT, and somewhat less evidence of Chinese signals.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

567 JOIK woman talking //594 1333UT

594 JOAK man in Japanese 1331UT

612 4QR weather for Brisbane 1405UT

747 JOIB woman in Japanese 1345UT

774 JOUB woman in Japanese 1345UT

828 JOBB Chinese lessons 1317UT

972 HLCA woman in Korean 1341UT

1566 HLAZ woman in Japanese peaking at 1338UT, but generally not much of a contender today

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

603 HLSA male ballad 1334UT //558

693 JOAB Chinese lessons 1331UT

711 HLKA man in Korean 1335UT

864 HLKR man talking //711 which was considerably weaker by now; 1345UT

891 JOHK man and woman in Japanese //594 briefly at this level 1345UT

945 CNR1 man in Chinese talking to another on phone, 1336UT; a moment later noted //639

954 JOKR man in Japanese 1350UT

963 CRI woman in Russian 1340UT

1206 Yanbian woman in Korean, briefly this level at 1340UT

1242 JOLF woman in Japanese 1337UT, better on north Flag

1287 JOHR woman and man in Japanese 1355UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

558 HLQH ballad //603 1334UT

585 7RN man interviewing woman //621 1349UT

585 JOPG woman talking //594 1338UT

702 2BL ABC news //612 1404UT

873 JOGB Chinese lessons 1334UT

1134 heartfelt male vocal seemed more appropriate for Korea? 1332UT

1188 JOKP man bellowing in Japanese //594 1337UT

1566 HLAZ man in Chinese 1351UT, followed by choral music

1575 woman talking, SE Asian language, better on north Flag 1347UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

531 JOQG man talking //594 1337UT

603 NHK1 woman talking //594 1333UT, soon taken back over by HLSA

621 3RN man interviewing woman //585 1349UT

639 CNR1 man talking //945 1337UT

666 JOBK man talking //594 1335UT

702 NHK2 man talking //774 1352UT

846 NHK1 man talking //594 1322UT

1053 man talking excitedly Japanese intonation 1328UT

1143 woman talking, Chinese intonation 1342UT

1179 woman talking Japanese intonation 1343UT

1323 CRI briefly heard with woman talking //963 1340UT

1422 woman talking, Japanese intonation 1338UT

1503 JOUK man talking //594 1335UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

801 819 855  909 918 927 936 981 1008 1017 1098 1314 1332 1368  seemed to be Asian;
729 756 1017 1548 1611 seemed to be DU

best wishes,

Nick
