[IRCA] Domestic MWDX to Enid OK, April 14-21, 2018

--- Begin Message ---
All times and dates strictly UT [4 hours ahead of `ELT` during EDT; when changing times one must also change the dates for events in the 00-04 UT period to the previous date by ELT].

Rx: mostly DX-398 with internal antenna only or PL-880; NRD-545 with ALA-330S inside E-W or inside randomwire N-S; Nissan stock caradio as specified; IC-R75 with E-W longwire.

These logs are excerpts from my daily all-band reports, mainly SWBC, also VHF/UHF, sometimes, utility, ham, which may be found in several archives without much delay, such as
http://www.hard-core-dx.com/index.php?topic=Hauser

And compiled weekly along with extensive news from many other individuals and publications in DX LISTENING DIGEST:

All my MW DX reports starting August 2011 are archived in this forum with open access:

[over 294,000 views! as of April 21, 2018]

These logs are in four sections, Canada [if any], Oklahoma [if any], rest of USA [if any], unidentified [if any], separated by ======= Within each, they are in frequency order

** OKLAHOMA. 530, April 20 at 1416 UT, still dead air from ``K530AM``, Vance AFB. Happen to retune at 2138 UT when the background-noisy canned ID is firing, back to dead air instead of irrelevant PSA loopings (Glenn Hauser, Enid, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. 530, April 21 at 1334 UT, ``K530AM``, Vance AFB is still dead air; ID will presumably fire on timer at unpredictable intervals (Glenn Hauser, Enid, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. 640, Sunday April 15 at 1200 UT, KWPN Moore, with `Sunday Morning Magazine`, pubaffs interview about mosquitos infecting Oklahomans with West Nile endemic but not yet Zika. Divergence from stupid sports talk every week at this time when audience is assumed to be minimal. Same show is on 930 WKY, diverging from stupid sports talk in Spanish, and presumably other FM stations in cluster, probably not synchronized in separate playouts (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. 740, April 15 at 1200 UT as I tune across, no signal, a split second later, KRMG Tulsa pops on at full 50 kW day power. Day pattern has two major lobes about 10 degrees CCW from E/W, and 25 kW night pattern quite similar. Enid is a bit off but at 100 miles distance still mainly covered day and night. 1200 UT is correct KRMG FCC LSR time for April; May & July will be 1115 UT, and earliest 1100 UT during June (Glenn Hauser, Enid, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

============

** U S A. 1130, April 14 at 1848 UT check, KLEY Wellington KS has resumed its totally wacko transmission consisting of rapid constant noise bursts, at the rate of 300/minute or 5/second, and separately, bits of modulation as carrier cuts on and off at slower irregular intervals. Furthermore, for the first time I find it off-frequency: at 1130.5, drifting down steadily to 1129.8 by 1849 UT! What a piece of crap this station is; yet sometimes it manages to funxion normally or is off air completely. It`s licensed for 250/1 watt U3, and direxional north semicircle. When I hear it to the SW, unseems direxional either (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 1130, April 20 at 1427 UT, KLEY Wellington KS in usual SNAFU, mixture of rapid regular noise pulses, and carrier modulation cutting on and off the air at slower very irregular pace. Here`s a sample of how it sounds when tuned to 1129-USB:
http://www.w4uvh.net/KLEY1130SNAFU.mp3
Later in day I wanted to record it on caradio without BFO and with stronger signal, but it was completely off. No doubt there will be more opportunities (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 1130, April 21 at 1334 UT, KLEY Wellington KS is back to normal at the moment, continuous carrier and modulation! Promo for a co-ed mud volleyball festival sponsored by Rocking M Media, usual slogan IDs ``The Wave, 100.3 and 1130, your music stations from the wheat capital of the world``. No doubt the SNAFU will be back anon (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
