[IRCA] Mostly Mexican MW DX to Enid OK, March 30-April 13, 2018

--- Begin Message ---
These logs are excerpts from my daily all-band reports, mainly SWBC, also VHF/UHF, sometimesÂutility, ham, which may be found in several archives without much delay, such as
http://www.hard-core-dx.com/index.php?topic=Hauser

And compiled weekly along with extensive news from many other individuals and publications in DX LISTENING DIGEST:
http://www.worldofradio.com/dxldmid.html

All my MW DX reports starting August 2011 are archived in this forum with open access:
http://forums.wtfda.org/showthread.php?6543-MW-DX-from-Enid-OK-by-Glenn-Hauser/page68
[over 293,000 views! as of April 13, 2018]

All times and dates strictly UT. Rx: mostly DX-398 with internal antenna only or PL-880; NRD-545 with ALA-330S inside E-W or inside randomwire N-S; Nissan stock caradio as specified; ICR-75Â E-W longwire.

** MEXICO. 550, April 11 at 1151, ``Amanecer Ranchero de la Super-EstaciÃn``, i.e. XEPL, Ciudad CuauhtÃmoc, Chihuahua (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 570, April 11 at 1126, ``BJB, mÃsica regional mexicana``, repeated, i.e. XEBJB, Monterrey NL (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 610, April 11 at 1149, different music than 650, but at 1200, XEGS Guasave, Sinaloa, joins 650 for `Noticiero Altavoz`, and the pair are synchronized. 650 always with a bigger signal (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 650, April 11 at 1149, neat singing ID as ``Somos Grupo ChÃvez``, ``y Noticiero Altavoz``, UT -6 TC, but not yet, more music. News starts at 1200, from XETNT, Los Mochis, Sinaloa when sibling station XEGS 610 joins in (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 790-, April 11 at 1129, Radio FÃrmula ID in passing, makes rumbling het vs lots of CCI, primarily 790.0 KURM Rogers, Arkansas. From SW, presumed XENT, La Paz, BCS. John Wilkins, CO, reported to NRC IDXD, ``Tough copy and no ID but XENT has been on this off-frequency for years``, 789.96, which was his measurement, not mine, but I do not dispute it (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

[Re my log of R. FÃrmula on 790, presumed XENT La Paz BCS:]

A recheck of Radio FÃrmula Guadalajara web site this morning reveals that 1280 and 790 have swapped formats.

XEBON-1280 changes from ORF3 to ORF1 (and adds //FM XHBON-89.5).
XEGAJ-790 changes from ORF1 to ORF3

ORF1 = "primera cadena" news/talk
ORF3 = "tercera cadena," also known as TriÃn, which plays some music
http://radioformulaguadalajara.com/categorias/programacion

Both are low-power stations that are rarely if ever logged by US DXers. According to Wikipedia, the addition of XHBON-89.5 took place this morning!
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XHBON-FM
73 (Tim Hall, CA, April 9, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

So the only R. FÃrmula ORF1 news format on 790 is XENT BCS (gh, DXLD)

** MEXICO. 800-, April 11 at 1130, ad for Laboratorios Camacho en Fresno, California, 800#, presumably a medicine mill; full ID as ``800 AM, --- internacional, Radio CaÃÃn, (street address), Ciudad JuÃrez, Chihuahua, MÃxico, Grupo Siete!``. More plugs for Labs, 29:6 TC by autoYL, music. Nice to hear XEROK as often inaudible at night; near-local KQCV OKC nulled as much as possible, with which it makes a SAH of 104/minute on the low side = 1.73 Hz. Not long before KQCV takes over (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 830, April 11 at 1133, Spanish dominating from SSW, while WCCO is JBA to zero in auroral conditions (670 WSCR Chicago is also JBA to zero); 1134 mis-time-check thrice as 6:32 (UT -5 CDT zone), and 1135 UT as 6:33; 1137 WCCO gaining a little; 1143 I make sure the SS is NOT from SSE which would be Louisiana. At 1146 it`s alone with ID in passing as ``La Caliente`` which is XELN, Linares, Nuevo LeÃn. That town is closer to due S from here than SSW; SE of Monterrey on the railroad to Ciudad Victoria, intersecting Rio Conchos, near the Tamaulipas state line (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** KIRITIMATI. 846, April 13 at 0546, JBA carrier, presumed R. Kiribati sporadically active (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Pacific JBA MW carrier search, April 11 at 1115-1123: 774(2)-NW & WSW, 756-WSW, 702(2)-WSW, 675-WSW, 612-WSW, 603-WSW, 594(2)-WSW & NW, 585-WSW; 828-NW, 846-WSW, 882-WSW; 1098-W (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 1521.0, April 13 at 0125, definite +1 kHz het upon KOKC OKC 1520, just like old times when it was surely from the 2-megawatt Duba, Saudi Arabia transmitter running all night. Several months ago it stopped AN, off before sunset here, but suspect it is back, as can`t imagine this would be anything else. ZNS 1540 Bahamas had put spur circa 1521 but nothing to match now circa 1559. Nor any other lower-powered TA signals in cursory check of 1575 and major channels below 800 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
