[IRCA] Puyallup, WA Ultralight TP's for 3-9

The Japanese big guns were out in serious force once again from 1400-1420, but there was some worthwhile DX from other areas showing up on certain frequencies. Overall the variety seemed a bit down from yesterday, although Taiwan's 738-BEL2 managed an even better signal.

In the predawn darkness nothing much happened here (except for the usual big guns) until around 1340, when 603-China and 657-Pyongyang started building up some modest strength. Usually 603 is a mix of China and HLSA here, but this morning the frequency was all China. 639 and 738 are usually tough frequencies in the predawn darkness because of California splatter, but a check of 738 at 1350 revealed a pretty good signal from BEL2, with the lady announcer giving the news well over the KCBS splatter. By 1400 the NHK big gun parade had started, with S9 signals on 594, 693 and 774, and pretty strong signals on 747 and 828. The increasing daylight didn't do much for the Chinese stations, though, and 639 never managed a signal over the 640 splatter. In contrast to yesterday 972-HLCA sounded pretty anemic as well, and brief checks of 756 and 936 weren't productive. Overall the session wasn't bad for the Japanese big guns, but pretty limited for everything else. The bright spot of the session was 738-BEL2's good signal at 1350-- about the only time in the session that it really managed to break free of KCBS.

603 China (Hulun Buir?) All alone on the frequency with Chinese speech at 1343 in the predawn darkness (HLSA was MIA all morning) https://dreamcrafts.box.com/s/dwq260p3485nqsd38qqktdltis3f9emm

738 BEL2 Penghu, Taiwan The usual lady announcer giving news in Chinese at a good level at 1350; kind of rare at this strength recently https://dreamcrafts.box.com/s/vtr4yye6cje0uyue0g3930c222utengn
