[IRCA] TP 21 Jan Victoria version

A very puzzling sounding morning with quite a number of Aussies, yet 
a couple of mystery Chinese as well.   The activity was all in the 
lower part of the band also.   Pretty much as different from 
yesterday as it could be.



pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, 
at least briefly):

594 JOAK weather report over soft music 1458UT
747 JOIB man in Japanese 1501UT, the only strong NHK2 station this morning



Reasonable audio  at  times during the period (much of it 
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

972 HLCA woman in Korean, another woman agreeing 1535UT



not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or 
noise could be understood by a native speaker:

603 unID Chinese talk by woman 1543UT
612 4QR woman in DU English 1533UT; was weaker when // established 
with 828 at 1539UT
774 3LO man in DU English, call in program //828 1525-6UT
774 JOUB man in Japanese //747 1508UT



Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be 
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in 
talk or music)

567 JOIK man and woman signing, sounded vaguely operatic, but quite 
oriental 1540UT; seemed //594 which was doing even more poorly at 
this time. (also noted with weather 1459UT //594)
576 woman talking, sounded like DU English 1537UT
603 man talking, slightly better on North Flag, could have been Korean 1530UT
621 definite Chinese pips 1500UT, no idea otherwise
738 2NR ABC fanfare 1500UT
828 3GI  call in program //774 1526UT
855 4QO/4QB ABC fanfare 1500T, no pips
918 unID slow vocal music, almost an island feel to it, but when 
woman started talking, it sounded Chinese, 1513-4UT
1017 Tonga? quiet music 1501UT


Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or 
ravaged by splatter)

 558 756 891 909   seemed to be Asian;
702 756 846 882 891 1098 seemed to be DU
