Re: [IRCA] 1410 KQV Off?

Hi Dave & gang:
Merry Christmas to all of you.
I don't know about KQV. I didn't pay much attention to 1410 last night. They were supposed to go off at midnight 12/31. I'm surprised, given their pattern, that they are a problem for you, though I have noticed them coming in a lot better at night. I assumed the reason for that was the loss of CKSL. WING does not do well here at night, though who knows hos it will sound with its two main competitors off. As for KQV, most of the staff is probably, from the way the sound on the air, able to apply for Social Security. I wonder how long it's been since they hired any new on air talent. News stations seem to hang on to their announcers forever. WWJ, Detroit, for example, had for 40 years three or four guys who were all veterans of the CKLW news staff back when they were the Top 40 king of the whole region. In fact, I'm not sure Joe Donavan isn't still there.

Just logged WING Dayton for the first time from Albany. No sign of KQV.
