At 3 p.m. EST (2000 UTC) as I was pulling out of the Market Basket store in Bourne, MA, I popped up 730 WJTO, a station I regularly tune for Bob Bittner's unique twist on oldies / nostalgia. Besides some back chatter from WACE's fire 'n' brimstone preacher (via early skip), there was a 1 kHz het, most likely from 729 Spain (though South Africa would be more interesting).
Other spots on the dial had hets too, of course the 1521 Saudi biggie against 1520 WIZZ/WWKB and 1503 (Iran maybe) against 1500 WFED/WFIF.
Sunset is about 4:25 p.m. EST / 2125 UTC.
I am running 4, 5, and 6 p.m. Perseus captures to see if anything worthwhile bubbles up.
Wondering if things will swing auroral since talk on the local TV weather showed Northern Lights pictures from last night, I think from Mt. Washington, NH.
