Make that 300 meters to the water, not 100, or 300 paces anyway. Jim

Straight south 100 meters to Scapa Flow from the Buxa Chalet (3 cottage
apartments) halfway between Stromness and Orphir along A964. Southern
horizon blocked by the heights of the Island of Hoy. Space to the east and
west for wire though there is a herd of cows in one of the pastures. To
the north about a half mile through pasture before reaching A964. The
pasture land is not owned by the cottage operator, but in the dead of
winter I don't expect it is being used for much. The Hoy blockage might
defeat this as a preferred place, but I suspect that there are many other
locations around the Orkney Mainland. Jim Renfrew
