[IRCA] TP 13 April Victoria version

A very lively Asian morning from about 1240UT to about 1315UT. There probably was a fair bit of DX missed, even though I was live listening for much of the period. And it's late at night now, not enough time to do the recordings justice.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

594 JOAK woman and man in Japanese, 1308UT
693 JOAB beating back the 690 splash, English lessons 1245UT
774 JOUB English lessons 1247UT
828 JOBB English lessons 1308UT, an immense signal just then
972 HLCA man in Korean 1259UT
1566 HLAZ man in Japanese 1306UT

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

567 JOIK man in Japanese //594 1247UT
666 JOBK likely, woman in Japanese not //594 1256UT
747 JOIB English lessons 1243UT
819 N. Korea woman in impassioned Korean //855, 1240UT
981 CNR1 man and woman in Chinese //9451252UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

558 HLQH man and woman in Korean 1306UT //603
603 HLSA man in Korean, soft music, 1233UT //558
702 NHK2, English lessons after pips 1300UT
864 HLKR likely with man in Korean 1239UT
873 JOGB English lessons 1302UT
945 CNR1 man and woman in Chinese //981 1253UT
1017 CRI likely with woman in Korean 1249UT, best on N. Flag
1134 S. Korea likely with man in Korean 1302UT
1242 JOLF likely, man in Japanese 1248UT
1287 JOHR woman and man in Japanese 1309UT
1323 CRI likely with man and woman in Russian 1247UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

837 JOQK woman talking //594 1301UT
846 NHK1 man talking //594 1230UT
891 JOHK man talking //594 1312UT
954 man talking excitedly, Japanese inflection 1246UT
1107 woman talking Japanese inflection 1304UT
1179 piano music, fading to man talking 1253UT
1188 JOKP man talking, //594 1303UT; better on north Flag
1206 woman talking, sounded Korean, then portentous music 1305UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

621 639 657 936 963 1008 1035 1044 1053 1089 1098 1116 1143 1251 1269 1296 1386 1422 1575 seemed to be Asian;
 nothing seemed DU

best wishes,

Nick
