After hearing 4QD?s carrier at sunrise yesterday, I listened on 1548 for several minutes this morning hopping to hear something, but only heard KQNM. It was pretty much a TP morning here today.

Richard.

Noting that Tim Tromp in MI has had
them twice in a week and has caught
them in March in the past couple of years, I had to try this
morning.
Previous attempts at getting them have resulted in carriers
in too much
slop for audio.

I got to the rx this morning a minute prior to my 1154 UT
SR. Bingo,
there's a big carrier on 1548.01 in much slop and sure
enough I can hear an
Aussie accented guy speaking. The signal fades up and down
lots and I check
around and note quite a few other highband carriers.

1548 was fading down somewhat by ToH but the ABC nx sounder
mx was clear
enough.

A quick check of low band Aussie freqs showed about no
trace. I'll see if
any Asians came thru when I get home. Japan and Korea seem
to not get east
of cental OK unless cx are extraordinary.

Nice going, Kaz, congrats! Yesterday morning was better here with less
slop from adjacent KXEL. I was able to dig out some short bursts of Aussie
accented audio under the splatter this morning just prior to 1200 UTC. By
1208 UTC, it was gone, carrier and all...

Thx Tim,

I also had trace audio on 1611 bothered by a stronger than normal for
sunrise Toronto. 1629 was close to audio as was 1512. Weaker but quite
present were 1683 and the station on the high side of 1701. 1665 and a few
other decent carriers also noted.

You may want to listen to 1550 if you need KMRI from Utah. SS mx and the
gal gives a 3 station ID at about 1158:30 UTC. She ment 1660 Brigham
City but I thought they were gone? The tail end of KICS/KXPN ID was noted
at 1200 on 1550.

Things were hopping on the upper band with 1680 KNTS nice with SS rlg mx
and both Californians on 1670 noted u/WOZN.

Not quite as interesting a morning as yesterday, but still some
good signals from Japan and Korea. Nothing at all on the DU side of
things here.

594	JOAK	Tokyo, JAPAN	Fair with man in Japanese first noted at 1158.
Good level by 1300.

693 JOAB Tokyo, JAPAN Not as good as yesterday, but was fair
with man in Japanese during English lesson at 1257.

747 JOIB Sapporo, JAPAN Doing better than yesterday. Poor-fair
with man in Japanese at 1201.

774 JOUB Akita, JAPAN Fair at 1200 with musical bridge, time
pips at 1200, then English language lesson, //747. Never reached the
level of yesterday, but was good by 1300.

828 JOBB Osaka, JAPAN Poor at 1201 with language lesson, //774.
Fair to good nearer to 1300.

972 HLCA Danjing, S.KOREA Not in as early as yesterday, but was
at fair to good level at 1255 with man in Korean.

1566	HLAZ	Jeju, S.KOREA	A bit more normal behavior today, with audio
first noted at 1206 with man in Japanese at fair level. Still reached
VG level around 1300.

Plenty of other carriers, with 819, 873, and 1107 among the strongest.
